The Royal Cup Matches take place at the end of each golf season. This annual event matches the top 10 Illinois PGA Assistant Professionals versus the top 10 Wisconsin PGA Assistant Professionals in an 18-hole four ball match play event.

Eligibility

PGA Member Assistant or apprentice in good standing. Selection is the top 10 from the 2016 Assistant Player of the Year Points list following the Illinois PGA Players Championship.

Event Format

18 Holes of team competition, one (1) Best Ball of the partners. The team consist of two Illinois PGA Assistants VS two Wisconsin PGA Assistants. Each three (3) point match is a better ball of pairs, in which one point is awarded to the side for the front nine, back nine and the 18 hole match (Nassua Scoring). A tie for any of the points results in awarding each side a half point.
