After a 2-year hiatus, the first of two Illinois PGA Assistant Stroke Play events returned on Monday, May 5 at Joliet (Ill.) Country Club. Sixty-two Illinois PGA assistants or registered apprentices played in this 18-hole stroke-play competition.
The Merit Club's Jim Billiter posted a 2-under-par 70 after battling through some challenging course conditions. His round consisted of three birdies and a bogey. Eric Ilic, Edgewood Valley C.C, posted the only other sub-par round, 71, giving him second place honors.
