The first event of the 2008 Illinois PGA tournament schedule is in the books. The Pro-Pro Championship took place on Monday, April 21 at Harborside International G.C. in Chicago, Ill. Over 180 Illinois PGA golf professionals participated in this popular event that pairs up professionals from across the state in a better ball of the pairs event.
On the port course the team of Frank Fonte, Urbana C.C. and Mike Small, University of Illinois came away with first place honors after carding an eight-under par 64. A quartet of teams finished in second place with a seven-under par 65.
The starboard course had five teams tie for first place after finishing the event at five-under par 67. The teams were: Rich Dukelow, Cantigny G.C. & Eric Hoff, Ruth Lake C.C.; James Hauman, Westmoreland C.C. & Daniel Frusciano, Indian Hill Club; Brett Packee, Core Golf & Harlan Chemers, Conway Farms G.C.; Lance Olson, Champaign C.C. & Larry Brady, PGA Life Member; Michael Troy, Zigfield Troy G.C. & Jason Shook, Wedgewood G.C. |
