HOST PROFESSIONAL: Dave O'Neal (630) 443-3500.
EVENT FORMAT: 18 Holes of Stroke Play to qualify non-exempt competitors into the 2007 Illinois Open Championship to be held at The Glen Club. The exact number of spots will be posted at the scoreboard prior to the start of competition. In case of a tie for the qualifying or alternate position(s), there will be a sudden death playoff following the posting of the final scores. Playoff holes will be determined by the Tournament Committee.
ELIGIBILITY: All PGA Members, apprentices, golf professionals and amateurs with a handicap index of 10.0 or less who are legal residents of the state of Illinois.
ENTRY FEE: Non-PGA Professional $230.00
Illinois PGA Member/Apprentices (In Good Standing) $205.00
State of Illinois Amateurs $180.00
Optional Donation to the Illinois PGA Foundation $ 5.00
Successful qualifiers will have their entry fee posted towards the tournament proper. Entry fee includes green fee and range usage on the competition day(s). Entry fee must accompany application and be payable in cash, cashiers check, debit card or credit card. The Illinois PGA reserves the right to change the schedule of play and locations as presently contemplated.
Late entries will not be accepted under any conditions. The entry fee will not be refunded after entries close. This policy applies to all contestants, including exempt players.
ENTRY DEADLINE: Friday, June 1, 2007 at 11:59 p.m. All entry fees must be made online at www.ipga.com.
WITHDRAWS & REFUND POLICY: Unless otherwise stated on the entry form, the following refund policy applies to all Illinois PGA events: Withdrawal prior to closing date: FULL REFUND less an admin fee of $10.00 Withdrawal after closing date:
1) Refund request form must be completely filled out and returned to the Section office to be reviewed at the next scheduled Tournament Committee meeting.
2) If a request form is not received by the next scheduled Tournament Committee meeting, all rights to a refund will be forfeited. If a request form is not received by October 15th of any given year, all rights to a refund will be forfeited.
3) The Tournament Committee will review all refund request forms on a case-by-case basis, and determine whether or not a refund will be granted. All decisions made by the Tournament Committee will be final.
4) Upon the close of the Sections fiscal year, all non-refunded tournament entry revenue shall be carried forward into the next fiscal year and allocated to tournament purse(s) at the discretion of the Tournament Committee.
Refund request forms and a Tournament Committee meeting schedule will be provided on the tournaments page on www.ipga.com.
Note: A competitor will not be eligible for a refund if:
(1) The competitor ‘no shows’ at an event, AND
(2) fails to notify the Section Office or the on-site event staff prior to their assigned starting time, when giving such notice would have been practical.
FIELD SIZE: The field size for Royal Hawk Golf Club will be limited to the first 81 players.
All exempt players need to register for the 2006 Illinois Open by Friday, June 1, 2007. Field size is different for each facility.
QUALIFYING SPOTS: There will be thirteen (13) qualifying spots available for the 58th Illinois Open Championship on August 6-8, 2007 at The Glen Club in Glenview, Illinois.
PRACTICE ROUNDS: Please contact the host facility to schedule a practice round starting time.
FOOD & BEVERAGE: There will be food available for cash purchases ONLY.
CART/CADDIE POLICY: A motorized cart or caddy shall be required for all competitors. Contestants may bring their own caddy. Royal Hawk Golf Club does NOT have a caddy program.
STARTING TIMES & GROUPINGS: Contestants shall be responsible for their starting times and groupings. All starting times and groupings will be listed on www.ipga.com as well as emailed to all players once they are finalized. Starting times will also be available by calling the host facility.
SPIKE POLICY: Metal and/or soil penetrating spikes will not be allowed at any Illinois PGA sanctioned event unless otherwise specified. For further information this policy is listed on Page 4 of the Illinois PGA Section Tournament Rules & Regulations, Conduct, Eligibility and Policies which can be viewed at www.ipga.com. Penalty for breach of this rule is DISQUALIFICATION.
DRESS CODE: Contestants may not wear blue jeans and may not wear collarless t-shirt or tank tops. Men will observe the dress code of the PGA TOUR, NO SHORTS. Women will observe the dress code of the LPGA TOUR. While on the host facility property, caddies may wear either long pants or tailored solid colored knee length shorts. Blue jeans, cutoffs, T-shirts or shirts with no collar shall not be worn. Smooth rubber sole shoes are required. Golf shoes with traditional metal or soft spikes are prohibited.
CONDUCT: While on host facility property during qualifying rounds; players and caddies shall conduct themselves in a professional manner. All players MUST abide by the IPGA Tournament Rules & Regulations listed on the Illinois PGA website. The Illinois Section PGA Section reserves the right to remove a player from the qualifying competition for; non-competitiveness; conduct unbecoming a professional by the player; conduct unbecoming a professional by the players’ caddie.
RULES OF GOLF: Play shall be governed in accordance with the Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association, as modified by the IPGA 2007 Local Rules and Conditions of Competition card and supplemented by the Notice to Competitors. Questions or disputes shall be settled by the on site Rules Committee appointed by the IPGA, whose decision shall be final.
