The first day of July provided picture perfect weather for the Ravinia Green Country Club Stroke Play Classic as 102 Illinois PGA Members and Apprentices teed it up in the fourth of six single-day stroke play events on the 2013 calendar.

At the end of the competition, three players shared top honors with rounds of 70 (-2).  Brian Carroll (Royal Hawk CC) was first in the clubhouse with a round of 33-37--70, which included birdies on his first two holes of the day.  Andy Shuman (Twin Orchard CC) carded four birdies and just two bogeys en route to his 36-34--70, followed by Dan Massello (Evanston GC) who managed just one blemish on the card along with three birdies to post a 35-35--70.

Four other players managed red numbers in the end to finish with 71 (-1), this group included:  Frank Hohenadel (Midlothian CC), Matt Slowinski (Glen Oak CC), Doug Bauman (Biltmore CC) and John Billiter (Sportsman's CC).
